Jack Kirby - one word - awesome!

Can't remember where I heard this but apparently the personality of the Thing was based on Jack Kirby's own to some degree. When he was six he drew graffiti on the stairwell of the appartment block where his family lived. He got in trouble over it, but the graffiti, everyone agreed, was totally incredible.

Jack's point of view and philosophy of drawing became the governing philosophy of the entire publishing company and, beyond the publishing company, of the entire field.

I love the art and story in this graphic novel. There was also the hardback edition with a slipcase, if I remember correctly.
