Van Lente stuck to established continuity as much as possible (bringing back janissa and referencing when Conan and Thoth first fought)

Here's another one with a Tomas Giorello style King Conan.

If that's the Conan we see in Slayer, things are going to be OK…art wise anyway.

Looks promising! Best thing we can all do to ensure this title's success is to pre-order it... add it to your pull! Pre-orders are the only numbers that comic companies care about in terms of monthlies so the more people pull #1, the better off the brand will be.

Yep, definitely a big improvement over Ching's depiction of Conan.
I'm ready for this book, but I just hope that Bunn has done his research regarding Howard's original Conan tales.

I have faith in this book (finally). This seems like a very considered attempt to get the best writer and artist. Anyway I like Bunn's other books, Harrow County especially, and from what I can see this artist is not going to be an problem. I mean those are some pretty tight pencils. They could just color the pencils like they used to.

Just a few months away now. I have Conan: The Avenger #22-24 sitting on my to read pile, but I'll wait until #25 comes out, which is the end of next month (April).
We'll be getting "slayed" before you know it.

Apologies to the artist. But I wanted to see these pencils colored so bad that I took a shot at it. (I'll take it down if it's against policy.)

This artist is good, if they don't drop the ball on the writing I will start picking it up again.

Yep same here. Have not bought anything since the QOTBC debacle, mostly because of the artwork

I've been buying the monthly this whole time, and while I think Fred Van Lente did a good job writing the book, indeed the art was such a terrible fit.
I look forward to seeing the Conan I've come to know and love in a monthly book again.
