So watched the last 3 episodes of Season 3, since Part 2 dropped a few days ago. What an absolute shit show the last two episodes were.
The first episode of Part 2 isn't bad because there is a decent amount of focus on Geralt, but this is such a fucking shame.
This went from Netflix's new cash cow to a laughing stock only somewhat saved by Cavill.
You would think from the last two episodes the show was called Ciri and Yen for how much they focused on them. This is the problem with letting people with a social agenda adapt source material. They will mold it to whatever they want.
If this is the kind of shit we are going to be getting in the future, keep the writers on fucking strike.

Aye, this is what happens when executives, writers and showrunners have their humanity, honesty, integrity, common sense and creative instincts replaced by a simplistic ideology. Add this to the dwindling viewing figures, Henry Cavill's exit and the writer's strike and I don't think there will likely be a season 4.
I did think that the fight scenes were great though - particularly Geralt's last fight at the Nilfgardian blockade. One more brief glimpse of what could have been.
In want of new input from Neon Knight here's the Drinker's take:
How The Witcher Destroyed Itself

Agreed regarding the final fight scene. A good scene for Cavill to go out on. I'll add that YouTube video to my queue

I had commented that episode 5 was "a chore to get through"......now having watched the the last 3 episodes, maybe episode 5 wasn't that bad......
Few more thing of note:
Some the green screen shots of characters standing in front of castles/cities looks like the quality you would see in the 90's.
Absolutely everything (sets, costumes, actors) about the forest people who nurse Geralt back to health screams lo-budget LARP.
The Asian "actress"..... who plays the Archer Milva is especially bad, and her amateur delivery reminds me of "actors" on the sitcoms my preteen girls watch.

Some brave soul out there ran a season 3 analysis and found that Geralt is onscreen 27% of the time in episodes 1-5 and a mere 16% of the time in episodes 6-8! Cavill's dwindling onscreen presence seems to parallel the dwindling viewer ratings.
Perhaps it shoulda been called 'Everyone but the Witcher.'

Neon Knight has posted his take on the last 3 episodes of Netflix Witcher Season 3 at last. He's a fan of both the books and the games so he brings that knowledge to bear in his assessment. SPOILER ALERT!The Witcher: Season 3 - This is Rock Bottom

Nice, thanks, hun.
Looks like Sapkowski's new Witcher novel is expanding on the same short story that Sirens of the Deep is based on. So it's set somewhere in the existing canon and won't continue the series.
He also believes Cavill left his mark on the character the same way Viggo Mortensen did with Aragorn in LotR.
