I read issue #5 and continued to enjoy it. I think this series is the best released after returning to marvel.
Every day I read the classic issues of Marvel and Dark Horse, and in all honesty, the old pastiche stories are no better than this one...
... I think we were more receptive in the past...

Issue #5 was the weakest of the bunch. As someone else said already, we didn't need another Thoth-Amon origin story. Also, I LOVED how the character was handled in the Dark Horse comics and this weak and pathetic shell of a man seems a downgrade for me.
It's weird how slow paced this arc is. I'm all for having splash-pages and let the narrative flow... but not much has happened in the last four issues.
However, I think the quality of the writing it's miles away from Aaron original run, and I'm enjoying the easter eggs and references to the legacy of the Cimmerian. The relationship between Conan and Conn was kind of sweet and I enjoyed it a lot. Let's hope the ending isn't embarrasing nonsense.

The last Marvel comic featuring Conan set in the Hyborian Age. Possibly ever! Weird to see Marvel Conan come to an end like this again. But I have high hopes for Titan. Conan doesn't appeal to mainstream audience anymore honestly and for the few Conan/REH fans, I think a smaller company would handle the character much better. I'm gonna miss Asrar's art though. It was a big redeeming quality. I might end up binge reading this series once issue 6 is out. |

The finale wasn't bad at all! I would say that it was actually better than Marvel's original chronology, that ended in a depressing note with "The necromancers of Naat".

This is the end of the new Marvel Conan... I lack of the words to express how dissapointed I am with Jason Aarons writting, how they had the biggest writter on Jim Zubb and how they just let it go, the final issue its like the final episode of Obi Wan, its good that almost make you forget how bad was the entire series .
I can just pray to Crom to have a good series on the upcoming Titan Comics run and wait for more and etter public domain adaptations like the upcoming "Tower of the Elephant" from Glenat.

I agree , pretty good ending to a disappointing series. The first few pages with Conn and the later part of the book , after yet more pages slashing his way through the island , were very good. Six issues which I think the best of could have been told in two.

Six issues which I think the best of could have been told in two. Actually, if you think about it, the entire thing it's kind of silly. Princess Prima wants to get rid of the curse. Thoth Amon wants the power that came with the curse. Soooo the entire conflict could have been solved in about 40 seconds with just a little conversation. |

I thought this saga was very good.... the best of this Marvel and better than a lot of classic referenced conan stuff. I think if this was released in the 80's it would be a classic of the character.
Sad that the fans don't like it.

Thats the best way to go on a story, I will buy for archive reason and maybe reading it on a TPB could give me a better rate
