A sad update from GRRM, he's still at the same page count as a year ago: screenrant.com/game-thrones-winds-winter-release-progress-update-george-martin/He needs to release what he has of Winds, then write a tight Dream of Spring with a coauthor if there is any chance of him finishing this before the Stranger beckons him. Sad, but true. He's 75. There's not enough time to finish Winds and A Dream of Spring at this point. Winds may not come out by 2025, he'll be 77. The last book will easily put him into his 80s. I’m sorry, that’s ridiculous at this point. I totally agree, put out what you have and make Dream a 300 pager at most. |

Looks like interest may have fallen off for this series since season one. Tends to happen I guess with the big hiatus between seasons these days.

HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ Spinoff ‘Hedge Knight’ Casts Dunk and Egg Roles
Actors Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell have been cast as the leads in the 'Thrones' prequel.
Perfect casting for Dunk. This is exactly how I imagined him while reading the book.
Peter is a former rugby player.
And the Egg is ok, although I imagined an uglier kid.

This looks to be pretty damn good. I enjoyed the first Dunk and Egg novella and have been meaning to read the rest.
The first season will probably have a Knight's Tale feel given the subject matter.

I saw this article on CBR saying they think Rhaenyra won’t meet the same fate as the books because the audience will be too upset. Are you kidding? If they DON’T do it, people will lose their minds!
