I dunno...with Yoda and possibly Darth Plagueis (if that was actually him looking out from the dark cave, as many speculate) involved, it could make for a very interesting season. Those light saber battles were pretty damn impressive too, so I wouldn't mind seeing more of that. I didn't get the feeling that I should be rooting for either of the twins, though - There was too much mystery behind them, in my eyes, and including the information that Sol was withholding from Osha, I felt their allegiances could end up going either way. And speaking of Sol, he was the one guy that I actually was rooting for, as he was a very troubled and flawed character with a good heart. I was hoping maybe he'd be redeemed. I enjoyed the series overall, but I think the story just took a long, convoluted way of getting to where it needed to go. But if there is a second season, I'll watch it. That certainly seems to be the intention to have that be Plagueis on the cave. If they wanted to do a story with him, they should’ve done it instead of trying to piggyback it off this. To paraphrase Burt Lancaster in the Professionals, you ain’t earned the right to tell the Darth Plagueis story 😊 At the very least, it could have been more enjoyable if he'd made an appearance halfway through and then pulled some strings from the background in the shadows. He could have done that without making a full appearance, if the writers have been wanting to save him for a second season.

The problem is it seems Leslye had her idea of what she wanted to do then tried to reverse engineer it into something that fit into the larger story. Priority was the characters (“strong female protagonists 1-5,”, etc.) then coming up with a Frozen Meets Kill Bill story, then finding some excuse for it to even be put on front of viewers. And at that budget? It certainly didn’t look like $180 million on the screen, is Disney going to want to pony up another 9 figures for a season 2?

I suppose that depends on how well this first season performed. Any clue? I haven't looked into it yet, but I know there's a HUGE difference between the critics score and the audience score (which is abysmal) over at RT.

I haven't looked into it yet, but I know there's a HUGE difference between the critics score and the audience score (which is abysmal) over at RT. The early episodes had decent numbers so we’ll have to see how it ended. I mean Velma earned a second season primarily based on hate watches, does Disney want to do that? And at such a high price tag? Whatever fans thought the Darth Plagueis story would be, this wasn’t it. And do they really want to delve into the possibility Yoda was lying for 100 years? Like this was the only way he could learn about the Sith Rule of Two. It’s beyond retcon at that point, it’s deconstructing an iconic character. And like I said, they haven’t earned the right to do that with this story. Edit-that’s probably how it ended. They really need to make a series fans WANT to watch.

If they have the numbers and think there's interest, I'm sure Disney won't care.
Not sure what you mean about Yoda lying for 100 years, as the Sith don't really reveal themselves until much later, right? As far as anyone knows right now, they're dealing with Jedi who went renegade or whatever (?). At least that's what I gathered while watching this, so correct me if I'm wrong.

If Yoda knows what’s going on with this whole situation, and yet by the time we get to TPM, everyone is still in the dark that Sith are out there, he’s either incompetent or in on it. Neither one is a very good look for him. Or if Venestra doesn’t tell him the truth, then what’s the point of showing him? None of this ends in a good place! 😊

I think I read someplace that the numbers on the Acolyte are 5% of the Mandalorian Season 2 finale. That’s completely unsustainable. We’ll see if they try to get out of it somehow by finding a scapegoat. At least they have Andor coming up, which people may end up watching this time since season 1 got some good word of mouth. Thought it was a bit too long but picked up at the end.

Eesh that's bad. Yes, I'm really looking forward to next season of Andor - Now THAT'S a great show. A bit slow at times, sure, but excellent overall. None of this ends in a good place! 😊 OK, I thought that's what you meant, but technically, the Sith aren't even known yet, right? At this point in the show, aren't The Stranger and his apprentice basically just traitors? I think it's still possible that he's not part of the Sith lineage...

That was a possibility until that little guest appearance in the rocks. People kept trying to find all kinds of reasons for them NOT be Sith, but they removed all doubts with that insertion. If they’d stuck to the movie lore. they’d have made them bad without going specifically down the Sith road. But they did what they did, so we either have to try to reconcile it…or ignore it. There’s a large contingent for the latter, that’s for sure! 😊

I still haven't watched past the opening of episode 1 of the Acolyte but I haven't talked to anyone who has recommended I watch the rest of it.
How do you screw up Star Wars so badly?
It might have something to do with most of the letters in Jedi.

They had a literal money-printing machine with one of the broadest palettes on which to create something really cool, expanding on what was already laid as foundation...and they puked, pissed and shit the bed, fell on the floor beside the bed and are convulsing like a fish out of water. Good.

Also, I just read this on Wookieepedia: "The Sith were free to train dark side agents identified as Sith acolytes so long as those acolytes were not trained as true Sith Lords. However, it was more than possible the Sith apprentice would violate the Rule of Two by training an acolyte as a real apprentice, intending to have their aid in overthrowing the Sith Master." So maybe this is what's happening?

So maybe this is what's happening? Basically. I’d guess Leslye was looking at Wookiee-pedia too, saw that entry and said “Yeah, let’s do that!” A square peg in a round hole fits better than this story did in telling that story.
