I saw this last night and they really make you care about the human characters which is part of its appeal. they also do a good job of making Godzilla a villain in this one, but you don't exactly hate him.

I grew up on the Godzilla Power Hour cartoon and had a giant Godzilla toy along with some Shogun Warriors. There are too many fond memories of he lovable lizard for me to hate him.

Thinking of taking the boys to see it this weekend. They are 10,10 and 13. I heard it is one of the more frightening entrees with Godzilla being depicted on the merciless side. Any thoughts on kids seeing it?

Any thoughts on kids seeing it? I've seen people taking younger kids to see it. Have they seen "Jurassic Park"? If so, then they should be fine. EDIT: You may want to hurry though, the film is on its way out of theaters in Canada and the US pretty soon. SECOND EDIT: Never mind, I've got showings going all the way into December 21. Looks like Toho will keep extending as long as the film racks in profits, and it did pretty damn well last weekend.

Does anyone have recommendations for prior Japanese Godzilla films and where to stream them?

Does anyone have recommendations for prior Japanese Godzilla films and where to stream them? Most of the Showa films are either on Max if you’re a subscriber or Pluto if you don’t. Not sure if the Heisei or Milleniums.

Does anyone have recommendations for prior Japanese Godzilla films and where to stream them? The original "Kong vs Godzilla" from 1962 is a hilarious comedy, intentional so. The original "Mothra vs Godzilla" from 1964 is one the best. "Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack" has some of the best fight scenes; the acting, story and writing is pretty decent to. Your mileage with Godzilla films will vary depending on how much you enjoy practical effects and your tolerance for some cheese. Oh, and I recommend the dubbed version of "Mothra vs Godzilla", shockingly it's superior to the Japanese version. I don't know where you could stream these. Maybe try free streaming sites.

Now up to 60.5 million - looks like it's going to surpass that 70 million after all!

Now up to 60.5 million - looks like it's going to surpass that 70 million after all! I can see it getting to 80 million, and over. Movie just released in England and has yet to be released in Mexico.

Something I feel hasn't been brought up enough in reviews is how phenomenal the soundtrack is.

Does anyone have recommendations for prior Japanese Godzilla films and where to stream them? I feel the need to retract one of my recommendations to you: "Godzilla Giant Monsters All out Attack". I re-watched it and it is a mess of a movie. It's a bad movie with some cool scenes and moments. Do not recommend.
