"Godzilla Minus One" only had a crew of 35 VFX artists. And even on their lean budget, probably got paid more than the ones at Marvel! Hard to say if they were paid more, but japan is a lot cheaper then America in general at the moment. It does sound like they were treated well though, not surprising since Takashi Yamazaki was the vfx supervisor.

Considering how much Marvel VFX teams have been in the news complaining about their low pay for long hours, I’d say it’s even money! :-)

Sounds like a Bluray release won't come around till the end of the year from the few minutes I spent looking it up. The Japanese blu-ray release looks very niece. I hope we get an identical version released here in north America. Even though I do not collect, I will be buying this for sure. comicbook.com/anime/news/godzilla-minus-one-blu-ray-dvd/That's tremendous. I'm not usually someone who buys physical for anything more than the movie itself, but that set looks really nice.

For anyone interested, "Godzilla Minus One" has won 8 Japanese academy awards! They are well deserved in my opinion. As the film did truly have excellent writing, cinematography, editing and sound design. Not surprised Sakura Ando won best supporting actor, I vaguely recognized her from other Japanese films while watching Minus One. She was excellent in this film. godzilla.com/blogs/news/godzilla-minus-one-wins-8-japanese-academy-awards-best-picture

So with the dust completely settled now, this films box office sits at nearly $113 million. Very sad that the best Godzilla movie ever made had to cut it's theater run short to make way for Hollywood trash.

I'd love to hear director Neil Marshall's take on Minus One. He's been saying for years that the industry needs to make more low and mid budget movies. Minus One has proved that it's possible to make movies that are entertaining, popular, critically acclaimed and profitable on a very modest budget.
